Well, the simple fact is that AIG aims to stay in business, and in order to do so, it must reward those who have been revenue producers.  Remember AIG is an insurance company, not a derivatives house, that has profitable businesses.  Although is bad for public relations, I totally understand the rationale behind things like retention bonuses and Christmas parties–you need to reward the revenue producers and Joe clerk who has been loyal (more…)
